This page acts as ‘one stop shop’ for Organised Play (OP) Events for the 2022 Competitive Season. To find Netrunner events around the world within these categories, we recommend using Always Be Running and filtering by the event type.



Competitive Track Events 

Circuit Openers 

Spread of prizes from the 2022 Circuit Opener kit

Circuit Openers are the inaugural event of the competitive season. They will be run by local organizers. Kits will be purchased via an application process. Once the applications close, kits will be assembled and shipped via the NISEI OP network of regional distributors. See the announcement article for more details.

  • Format: Standard or Startup, at the discretion of the TO
  • Period: Year-round (until 2023 kits are available)
  • Distribution Method: PayPal purchase and then central distribution via NISEI OP
  • Restrictions: None (an organizer may run multiple Circuit Openers if they wish, assuming they applied for enough kits during the application period)
  • Formality: Circuit Openers are classified as casual-tier events for the purposes of NISEI Organized Play Policies

National Championships

National Championships are limited to one per country and are run by a local organizer. Kits will be purchased via an application process. In case of multiple applicants per country, NISEI OP will decide who to award it to. No member of NISEI who themselves applied to run their country’s Nationals will take part in this process. Once the applications close, kits will be assembled and shipped via the NISEI OP Network of regional distributors.

Continental Championships 

Continental Championships are  premiere, NISEI-organized events. Due to the ongoing pandemic, they are planned to take place online in 2022. There will be three events on consecutive weekends, each of them timed to be convenient for the time zone of its corresponding supra-continental region (Europe and Africa, America, and Asia-Pacific).

Intercontinental Championship 

This will be a unique, online-only event, open by invitation only to the top-placed players of each of the three Continental Championships. This is an NISEI-organized event.

World Championship

This event is an NISEI-organized event, currently planned for 7th to 9th October 2022. A decision on whether it will occur in-person or online will be made in May 2022. If it is run in-person, the event will be held at the Sheraton Centre Hotel in Toronto, Ontario. Circuit Breaker Invitational Championship 

This event is an online, NISEI-organized event. It will be open by invitation only to winners of NISEI Store Championships, Regionals, and Circuit Openers that took place in the 2020 to 2022 seasons. We have announced some details on this, but prize support announcements are still pending.
