Worlds 2019 Schedule

Hello there Runners!

RealityCheque here again, this time with info on the timing of everything at our rapidly approaching World Championship. First up though, a reminder of Johno’s request for volunteer commentators. Please fill out this form if you’re able to help!

Please note that all times are approximate and exact times (for start of rounds, lunch breaks, etc.) will be made clear during the event.

Day 0: Thursday, 3 October 2019

We do not have access to the venue on Thursday, and as such no events are planned… but many players and NISEI members will be in Rotterdam, no doubt! Keep an eye on social media and you may just run into some others at hotels, restaurants, and bars!

Day 1: Friday, 4 October 2019

Crown of Lasers, baby! Tickets are sold out, but there’s still a reserve list and not all teams are final yet so if you’re looking to take part, it’s not too late. Get on social media and ask… Netrunner Dorks on FB, /r/netrunner on Reddit, or #worlds on Stimslack would be where I’d suggest starting! Other side events (Eternal, CoreXP, and Standard) for those not participating in Crown of Lasers.

  • 8:00 AM: Venue doors open.
  • 9:00 – 10:30 AM: Registration. Please be registered or in line to register by 10:30 AM so that the event can begin promptly once all registrations are processed.
  • 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM: Swiss rounds 1 and 2.
  • 2:00 – 3:30 PM: One hour 30 minute lunch break following round 2.
  • 3:30 – 8:30 PM: Swiss rounds 3-5, followed by a tiebreaker round (if necessary) and a prize ceremony.
  • 12:00 AM (midnight): Venue closes.

Day 2: Saturday, 5 October 2019

The main event! 7 rounds of Swiss, followed by a prize ceremony and open gaming for the rest of the evening.

  • 8:00 AM: Venue doors open.
  • 8:30 – 9:30 AM: Registration. Please be registered or in line to register by 9:30 AM so that the event can begin promptly once all registrations are processed.

  • 2:00 – 3:30 PM: One hour 30 minute lunch break at the conclusion of round 3.

Day 3: Sunday, 6 October 2019

Top competitors finish up the main event with 2 additional rounds of Swiss followed by a Top 16. Side events all day (Eternal, CoreXP, and Standard) for those not participating in the main event.

  • 8:00 AM: Venue doors open.
  • 8:30 AM: Day 2 check-in.
  • 9:00 – 11:20 AM: Swiss rounds 8 and 9. Possible tiebreaker round(s) to determine top 16.
  • 1:30 – 7:00 PM: Tiebreaker round(s) if necessary, cut to top 16, followed by prize ceremony.
  • 7:00 – 9:00 PM: Panels with NISEI members and special guest Liiga Smilshkalne.
  • 10:00 PM: Venue closes.

What about side events/what else is happening?

After Crown of Lasers concludes on Friday, and during the top cut on Sunday, we’ll be running side event pods for Standard, Eternal, and Core Experience.

Once the top cut has finished and we’ve crowned a new World Champion, NISEI will be hosting a panel (with special guest Liiga Smilshkalne) about the creative process, the future of the game, and an exciting new product in the works, followed by a short Q&A. Tell us what topics you’d like to hear about! This will be livestreamed, and recorded for those of you not awake at the time! We’ll shout about it on social media shortly before we go live.

We can’t wait to see you there! And until we do…

Always be running!
