Uprising – Design

The unthinkable happened.

The impossible happened.

The Space Elevator Authority’s myriad defenses have been breached.

The Fracture sent cracks of chaotic panic throughout the ranks of the Corps, and out of that chaos they sprang into action. Aggressive security measures were implemented to both seek out and apprehend the attackers, and hastily shore up inadequate defenses.

The Corps have entered Lockdown.

These powerful Lockdown Operations supercharge Corps’ security temporarily, as Argus mobilises their prisec forces to defend Weyland’s secure sites, and SYNC reroutes Network traffic into analysis engines to scrape for anything that might flag up persons of interest.

Lockdown Operations are designed to fill a similar role to that of defensive Current Operations like Manhunt or Enhanced Login Protocol, without the potential of them being countered immediately by a Runner Current or sticking around for the whole game if a Runner lacks the tools to clear them quickly.

These Operations can be used to shore up defenses for a turn against an aggressive Runner, add an extra layer of security when advancing an Agenda, or just push a power-play. For example, setting up Rashida Jaheem behind a Bioroid ice becomes much more viable thanks to NEXT Activation Command, as Runners will not only be unable to click through the ice, but also find it harder to break it the normal way.

Of course, these Lockdown plans only work if a Runner doesn’t discover and sabotage them. They all have trash costs that let a Runner deal with them if they are aggressively attacking a Corp’s central servers – so just holding them for the right moment might not pan out successfully.

Going into Lockdown takes time and planning, so a Corp can’t always advance their Agendas and enter Lockdown during the same turn. They have to play smart; perhaps utilising La Costa Grid or Biotic Labor to get that one last vital advancement counter to save the time needed to enter Lockdown.

Alternatively, they might outwit the Runner by installing their Agenda without advancing it, knowing the Runner is unlikely to waste resources checking what might just be another Snare!. And then, on the following turn, double advance the agenda, and switch on the Hyoubu Precog Manifold to secure their line to victory!

Argus Crackdown

SYNC Rerouting

Whenever a run begins, the Runner must pay 4credit or take 1 tag.

NEXT Activation Command

Play only if there is no active lockdown

This operation is not trashed until the start of your next turn.
The Runner cannot use non-icebreaker cards to break subroutines. 

All ice have +2 strength.

NAPD Cordon 

OPERATION: Lockdown 

0 cost, 2 trash.

Play only if there is no active lockdown

This operation is not trashed until your next turn begins.

As an additional cost to steal an agenda, the Runner must pay 4credit plus an additional 2credit for each advancement token on that agenda.

Hyoubu Precog Manifold

Play only if there is no active lockdown

This operation is not trashed until the start of your next turn.

Choose a server. Whenever the Runner makes a successful run on that server, you and the Runner secretly spend 0credit, 1credit, or 2credit. If you and the Runner spent a different number of credits, end the run.
